Question:
Explain 1 way in which music videos use media language to differ from each other
Refer to 1 example of contrasting media language in 2 music videos you have studied to support your answer?
I am going to talk about camerawork within Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag and Avril Lavigne - Skater Boy. Music videos use different types of camera movement to create effect, meaning and to show things like feeling and emotion to differ from other music videos. Teenage Dirtbag is filmed on a controlled camera showing a smooth and serious effect. which links to the lyrics, meaning and serious narrative of the song. In contrast Skater Boy is filmed using a handheld camera, creating a realistic first person perspective effect which helps to emphasise the songs punk rock style and meaning of being rebellious and individual.

BBC Radio 1:
- The Radio 1 audience is clearly addressed by the presenters that are close the the age of their main listeners demographic of 15 - 29.
- Radio 1 is targeting a young audience, the language of the presenters is restless and energetic, often using informal, everyday language that may include some slang and intertextual references to pop culture.
REMIT
- The remit of radio 1 is to entertain and engage a broad range of young listeners with distinctive mix of contemporary music and speech. Its target audience is 15 - 29 year olds and it should also provide some programming for young teenagers.
- It should offer a range of new music, support emerging artists - especially those from the uk - and provide a platform for live music. News, documentaries and advice campaigns should cover areas of relevance to young adults.
- Radio 1 had a service budget of £34.7 million in 2016/17.

L/O: To explore how the BBC is regulated
- Ofcom deal with complaints within the radio and TV industry and determine if the broadcasting code has been breached.

- broadcasters must take all reasonable steps to protect people under 18
- children must also be protected in the form of appropriate scheduling ensuring that they are not privy to material that is unsuitable for them.
live lounge pitch:
- our live lounge is based on live music, and interviewing musicians on questions chosen by viewers.
- Broadcast from a studio
- There would be a few restrictions as there might be a little bit offensive language but no offensive content.
- The target audience is 15 - 25 and there is a wide range of genres of music to appeal to everyone
- would broadcast from 3 - 8 weekdays because the lower age target audience finish school around 3 and might want to come home and chill out listening to our live lounge.
- We can target our chosen demographic by having a presenter around the age of the target audience, and have performers that the target audience would recognise so that viewers can relate, or music that is target to that target audience. We can also advertise on social media platforms that are target at a similar target audience.
