What are the 4 USES and GRATIFICATIONS from the theory?
The 4 reasons:
Entertainment - enjoying the game and having fun.
Identification - Relating and connecting to characters for example relating to Wyldstyle because she is a strong female character.
Personal Relationships - as its a multiplayer game you can connect and talk to the person that your'e playing with.
Information - Learn backstory and added information that isn't in the film but is in the game.
Analyse how genre codes have been used in the Leg movie poster campaign to appeal to a family audience?
Genre Conventions - Genre conventions are characteristics or element that you would expect to be in a certain genre
The Lego movie is an action adventure movie that has elements of romance and fantasy.
A family audience is split into 3 target audiences, Children , Teenagers and adults/Parents.
In the main theatrical poster the target audience is children and teenagers, The explosions and running connotes to danger and action,meaning that the genre convention is action, and the fact that there is multiple different superheroes could suggest that there is multiple different genre conventions. this makes the poster a lot more appealing to younger audiences as it makes it look exciting and thrilling. There is also a lot of characters that children, teens and adults will recognise, therefore appealing to them.
In the emmet poster there is a genre convention of action, I can see this by emmets facial expression, as he is screaming. Behind him there is a crane and an explosion which connotes to action and that something bad has happened. Also the crane could link to emmet as he is wearing a construction uniform.
Personal Targets:
Use accurate terminology
Revise longer, better, know exactly what I need to revise and use the time revising well
Understand and re -read questions
